Day 1: Self Portrait
I began my social justice photography challenge with a "fake" photo of me. It represents the ideas we pick up from media. It gets to a point where many of us want to photoshop ourselves out of reality.
Isn't it weird when you see someone's picture over and over on Facebook then you see them in person and hardly recognize them?
I think it's unrealistic to think that we don't buy into the media ideals of beauty, it is nearly impossible not to do so, but we should also value and love how we look on the inside. This is a constant struggle for me.
